QUEEN OF THE WAVES (FEAT. NICOLE CERMINARA)

LINES

[Verse 1: Everett Champion]
Wake up on the beach now, it's half past five
We a little drunk, still feel it from last night
It’s only us baby, don't act right
One week into summer, this isn’t the last time
That we’ll do this, and act stupid
Watch the waves crash, listening to music
We’re only human, so we won't be here forever
But the time that we have, we can spend it together
Yeah while we driving down the coast
Smell of your perfume mixed into my clothes
Have a picnic with champagne, toast
Then pose, I'mma take a few pics for you to post
Passing all the street signs, promise that we'll be fine
Sangria with a little bit of cheap wine
Waste a few hours, we don't keep time
She write quotes, but she always retweets mine
She got a sweet mind, meet me in a lawn chair
The rolling tide is resembling your long hair
If we leave right now, what do you stand to lose?
From Little Havana, over to sunny Santa Cruz
ClearWater beach, I feel like I hit the lotto
Drive over the bridge, we make it to Coronado
Del Rey beach, while I'm eating some gelato
If you wanna see it all, then you really gotta follow

[Hook 1: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
We going coast to coast, you are my queen of the waves
I'mma hold you close, and we can seize the day
I've been the through the most, but I know we'll be okay
Let's go coast to coast, and we can leave today

[Hook 2: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
We going coast to coast, yeah let me break it down
I’ve been through the most, and you won’t ever touch the ground
I wanna feel you close, I need your body right now
I’m your king, your my queen
Let’s find out what summer means
Go!

[Verse 2]
My Kehlani
My Rihanna
My Alina
And my Lana
My Cher
My Madonna
My Nicki
My Ariana
And you watch the waves move, you can feel the motion
Skies pink and white, while she sing Frank Ocean
We only have one night, no need to waste it
I think me and you need a vacation
I think me and you need to be wasted
PCH, feeling Californication
The sand, same colour as your skin tone
I can't think of the last time that I've been home
Watch the waves crash and feel the wind blow
And when you next to me, you'll never hear my ringtone
Queen Wave, I know you don't behave
Won't take you on cheap dates
Get lit and then replay
This song’s just a keepsake
Met you back in C.A
Writing my screenplay
Promise I won't be late
Yeah we talked about it last year, back in my dad's car
Jumping out the window, sneaking out through your backyard
California coastline, if we going that far
Miami Yacht Club, go and blow my black card
She never knew what she wanted to say
And when the world is cold, hit the sauna to lay
Living every summer up, cause she got caught in a daze
Yeah she high by the beach like Lana Del Rey
Okay!

[Hook 1: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
We going coast to coast, you are my queen of the waves
I'mma hold you close, and we can seize the day
I've been the through the most, but I know we'll be okay
Let's go coast to coast, and we can leave today

[Hook 2: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
We going coast to coast, yeah let me break it down
I’ve been through the most, and you won’t ever touch the ground
I wanna feel you close, I need your body right now
I’m your king, your my queen
Let’s find out what summer means
Go!

[Bridge]
Your skin, light brown
Big city, that's my town
Big ocean, I might drown
See you in a white gown
Thinking about right now
Never need a time out
Talk to me, and find out
Whenever the lights out
Just put your passion to it (passion to it)
Just put your back into it (back into it)
I'm here just asking you if (you if)
I got this cash and through it up (through it up)

[Outro: Everett Champion]
Daze Of Summer, this is the Daze Of Summer
That Daze Of Summer, that, that, that
That Daze Of Summer, that Daze Of Summer
You are now tuned into the Daze Of Summer

CONCEPT: the song is supposed to feel like waking up on the beach with a girl and the importance of young love in the summer time

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: THE HOOK WAS ORIGINALLY 2 SEPARATE SONGS, ONE CALLED “COAST 2 COAST” AND ONE CALLED “QUEEN”, SO WHEN THE TIME CAME, I SLAPPED THEM TOGETHER AND THEY FIT LIKE PUZZLE PIECES. ALSO IT’S GOT ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING OUTROS TO ANY OF MY SONGS, IT’S MY SONG AND I GET CHILLS FROM IT

HOLY GRAIL (FEAT. BREANA MARIN)

LINES

[Verse 1: Everett Champion]
There’s a little sunscreen on your nose
Same smell you left on my clothes
Feel the sand between your toes
New bikini then you pose
This is the life that I chose
It's going well I suppose
Your love is like a drug and I need another dose
While we driving down to Palm Springs
Flying down to Key West
I can feel your touch whenever we text
You fell in love, but you know I got the reflex
Here today, I don't know we're we'll be next

[Hook x2: Breana Marin]
You take me to church, got me calling out to Jesus
You put in that work, give me something to believe in
I'm give it all to you, for that holy grail

[Verse 2: Everett Champion]
I like my mornings with a kiss
She likes that time doesn't exist
I like the time up off of my wrist
She like her vodka with a twist
I like to feel the cold mist
She like the way I'm focused
I like it when the roles switch
Swimming like a goldfish
In the ocean so divine
We can go and waste our time
Come for a drink at 9
Sangria with a lime
Pinacolada? Okay fine
As long as we just drink outside
I wanna feel the sunshine
Open a bottle and my mind tonight

[Hook x2: Breana Marin]
You take me to church, got me calling out to Jesus
You put in that work, give me something to believe in
I'm give it all to you, for that holy grail

[Bridge: Everett Champion]
Corona on the side
The beach is where I reside
Gaze upon the tree line
Swear that I will be fine
I'm just a little overboard
But I swear I want more
Haven't tried this before
Wasted on the seashore
Middle of the afternoon, chilling and we day drinking
Middle fingers up, we don't even care what they thinking
You can hold your own, you ain't ever going down
I'm sipping on my holy grail, I swear I’m about to drown
Right now

[Hook x2: Breana Marin]
You take me to church, got me calling out to Jesus
You put in that work, give me something to believe in
I'm give it all to you, for that holy grail

CONCEPT: continuing the concept of starting a day on the beach, this song details day drinking and enjoying time with a loved one. it uses the holy grail as a metaphor for how effective the drinks have on me

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: the track features the grammy-nominated singer/songwriter breana marina, and she slaps. i literally wanted a simple song about day drinking and breana took the song to entire other level.

mamacita

LINES

[Verse 1: everett champion]
I like my girls with an accent
Like it when their back bend
When I stumbled on you girl
It wasn’t an accident
I was distracted, I was impacted
Way you move that body has got me attracted
You can hold yours, I can hold my own
Studying your body like I'm just learning bio
Kissing on my neck, well I'm trying to just drive home
We gonna treat my car like Cinco de Mayo
I hope, she a latina
Hot as Valentina
Cool as marina
Magic like Sabrina
Popping like Marina
Working out like she Serena
Voice of Selena
Which one? I mean either
And if she latin, we go make it happen
Meet me in the city when I'm outta St. Catharines
Or I can drive down, just south of the border
Told me come see her, and that was an order

[Pre-Hook: everett champion]
You know, I know I see ya
I know you got an idea
My age, I won't ID yah
Latina, my mamacita
She won't ever leave me damaged (why's that?)
Cause she got this advantage (what's that?)
That I can't even manage (What's that? What's that?)
Oh she so Spanish

[Hook: everett champion]
What's that? What's that? Oh I like my girls Spanish
What's that? What's that? Oh I like my girls Spanish
What's that? What's that? Oh we can go vanish
Aye, cause I like my girls Spanish, Spanish, uh yup

[Verse 2: everett champion]
I like her with a little bit of spice
Party next door, nah I swear she not nice
She like her sun hot, and her drink with ice
She buying anything, no matter the price
Why she bolding, holding, rolling like dice
Hands in the sky like she praying up to Christ
And when I saw her had to look back twice
Doing alright, but she never take no advice
Light skin queen, she moving it like the drug trade
Kick back on at the crib, yeah we just sun bathe
Catching every sun ray, Monday to Sunday
Hop on my plane, I'm run it down your run way
Watching all those hips move, making me just switch moods
Body too fine, can't find a dress that fit you
But don't worry babe, you won't even need it
Cause like your hometown, girl it's always getting heated

[Pre-Hook: everett champion]
You know, I know I see ya
I know you got an idea
My age, I won't ID yah
Latina, my mamacita
She won't ever leave me damaged (why's that?)
Cause she got this advantage (what's that?)
That I can't even manage (What's that? What's that?)
Oh she so Spanish

[Hook: everett champion]
What's that? What's that? Oh I like my girls Spanish
What's that? What's that? Oh I like my girls Spanish
What's that? What's that? Oh we can go vanish
Aye, cause I like my girls Spanish, Spanish, uh yup

[Bridge: everett champion]
Bonita, my mamacita
Who’s got 2 shots, fill them with tequila
Got a litre and she singing like Aaliyah
Got a latina, in my 2 seater
My love is deeper than the sea flow
Close your eyes baby, and you can breathe slow
Next year you gonna see me in the T.O
Quiero dormir contigo mi amorcito

[Hook: everett champion]
What's that? What's that? Oh I like my girls Spanish
What's that? What's that? Oh I like my girls Spanish
What's that? What's that? Oh we can go vanish
Aye, cause I like my girls Spanish, Spanish, uh yup

CONCEPT: i like spanish girls, that’s it. not exclusively, but you get the idea. the song is directed towards a spanish girl as i attempt to make her mine

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: WHEN I NEEDED A PRE-HOOK, I KEPT HEARING THE “YOU KNOW I KNOW i SEE YA” MELODY AND TONE IN MY HEAD, AND SWORE I KNEW IT FROM SOMEWHERE. i searched to find that melody and tone all over but i could never narrow it down, i guess it just came to me, it didn’t even feel like i wrote it

GRACE (FEAT. NICOLE CERMINARA)

LINES

[Verse 1: Everett Champion]
I hope that you and your man become distant
Your voice could sing a thousand songs, I’ll always listen
I’ll always be there in an instant
I mean as things become different
Ay I’mma swoop in, and pick up all the pieces
When I hear you speak, I become speechless
You make me feel something that I can't resist
It increases, breathe in and release this

[Pre-Hook: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
I know what you've been through, you know what to do
Happiness will ensue, let's focus on me and you

[Hook 1: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
Let’s drink this away, you can't be sober
Come to my place, let's talk it over
Feel the sun rays, it's getting colder
I’m in a daze, I’ll pull you closer

[Hook 2: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
Grace, I love your space
I need a taste, there's no time to waste
Thinking about Grace, I’ll kiss your face
There’s no need to chase, I’ll take his place

[Verse 2: Everett Champion]
Yo
I’ve heard things about your man, there's things I wish I didn't know
Well he out there getting drunk, and you wait and you sit at home
Don’t know how he getting home, no phone call, no texting
The next thing, you need to know is I can be the best thing
Driving me crazy, baby you always amaze me
Act like it don't phase me, I feel like Gatsby with Daisy
And your man don’t understand, how to keep a girl like you
But I’d like to try to, lemme tell you what I might do
I’m trying to show you what you need
Be the key if you wanna leave
Wear my heart up on my sleeve
Close your eyes and just breathe
Just let go, there’s no harm
Straight into my arms
Your man, just missed his chance
All I need you to do is advance

[Pre-Hook: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
I know what you've been through, you know what to do
Happiness will ensue, let's focus on me and you

[Hook 1: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]

I need a taste, there's no time to waste
Thinking about Grace, I’ll kiss your face
There’s no need to chase, I’ll take his place

[Bridge: Everett Champion]
Baby, I want it, you know that I need it
We in the summer, it always been heated
Body’s a book, so lemme go read it
I'm trying to make sure you and him are deleted
I change like the season, trying to beat him
Treat you to make sure you have space and some freedom
Trying to lead him, trying to meet him
We treat the beach like it's the Garden of Eden
He knows that I’m speaking, he know’s that I’m creeping
But he doesn’t know, we hangout on the weekend
We get alone, and then you get to freaking
You know that I mean it, that view is so scenic
I swear I’ve been dreaming, I’ll never go leave it
Throwing up cash, like I was bulimic
Before you start speaking, before this can begin
You gotta believe, my only one reason

[Hook 1: Everett Champion & Nicole Cerminara]
Let’s drink this away, you can't be sober
Come to my place, let's talk it over
Feel the sun rays, it's getting colder
I’m in a daze, I’ll pull you closer

CONCEPT: the song is all about wanting someone who is in a relationship with someone else, even though you know would treat them better.

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: the song is straight up about a girl i used to crush hard on named grace. she was with a guy who i knew wasn’t treating her right, and i knew i could never tell her that, so i wrote a song. and when the ep came out, i sent her the song about her. that was the most balsy thing i’ve ever done. she loved it by the way

ALOHA

LINES

[Verse 1: Everett Champion]
Aloha, to all you beautiful girls up from the tropics
Sunscreen on your back, and my wallet in my pocket
Ice cold touch, so you always sound melodic
This is paradise like Sean, or this is paradise like Logic
What you talking? Where you walking?
Let me take you on a trip
Where the only choice we have, is what are we gonna sip
Hand up on your hip, Piña Colada on your lip
Find the ocean take a dip, sun-tanning on the ship
My girl looking like Rose, got money like Daisy
Need to get away, on vacay so you can save me
Fly over the water, like I'm Marc E. Bassy
Cause I know life gets a little bit crazy
Now she don't want no cocaina
We met back in the marina
She want diamonds, no Marina
Work of art, no Mona Lisa
Take her to Ibiza, we can get a massage
This isn’t a mirage, take some pics and make a collage
Aloha!

[Verse 2: Everett Champion]
I drove my Jeep to Port Dalhousie
Played my music and you knew me
Now we back watching a movie
After drinks in the jacuzzi
Back on the beach with cool breeze
You a curly headed cutie
Driving over the QE
Perfect storm like George Clooney
We gonna chill and watch the waves crash
Posted on the white sand
Sunscreen on my left, and you holding on my right hand
My lips are so close to your body like a mic stand
Go out for the night, leather jacket and some HYPLAND
And it seem like every girl has a man
I gotta plan, I'mma take her to Cuba so we can tan
She laying on the beach wearing nothing but sand
Taking pictures out in Rio like Duran Duran
Yeah as soon as we land, we can gaze on the stars
You outta this world girl like you tanning on Mars
We hit the bars, long drinks and endless cigars
Waste away, seranade with acoustic guitars
Aloha!

[Interlude]
I'ma do somethin' different for the last one
I'ma go in...

[Verse 3: Everett Champion]
If we can make it on vacation, I know that we'll be complete
If I can make it from the basement, we can go rent out the suite
Never faking, if it’s vacant, we can go to turn up the heat
Elevating, then we staying, voice drowned up from the beat
There’s a party on the top floor, penthouse living
Honeymoon Suite, yeah that’s how I’m tripping
Work too hard, to let the money make me different
I was pouring then I'm sipping, now I’m soaring and I listen up
To Phoebe to Bebe, AS was hot as Tahiti
Taking vacations in Fiji, you shaking like a martini
Your sister looks like Bella, that must make you Gigi
And if you see me on TV, you prolly bumping my CD
But for right now, all I need is a breeze
All you need is some trees, and all I need is the keys
I can take you home please, before I see you and freeze
Hunnid dollar waves, so I’m swimming in the seas
Make some commas, in the Bahamas, I'll rent out the Atlantis
I like any girl as long as she a little spanish
Hit the casino, I got a little Filipino
Sipping on Pino, while we vibing to Childish Gambino
Well I’m making a Pina Colada, she’s up in the water
I need a lot of daughters wearing Adidas and Prada
And their father bought a lotta land, million dollars in the sand
He brought a bunch of drama, but she really doesn't understand
I'm up in the islands, bringing sand up in the booth
Doing anything I can to show you who's the truth
Dropped 2 classic projects, so there is the proof
Now let me drop another 2, let me show you my moves
Aloha!

CONCEPT: WITH SO MUCH SINGING ON THIS PROJECT, I WANTED A SONG TO JUST RAP FOR MINUTES AND FLEX MY LYRICAL ABILITY

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: THIS SONG REALLY ENCAPSULATES the entire vibe of the ep: palm trees, driving in the summer, beaches, and day drinking. It’s structure was very inspired by “run it” by logic, i even copy his “i’mma do something different for the last one” phrase before the third verse

NEXT TIME (FEAT. NICO TK & BREANA MARIN)

LINES

[Verse 1: Everett Champion]
Woo! Bright eyes and a brunette
Blowing up my phone like I’m chilling in a group text
Singing all my songs whenever we go duet
Remember last summer when you stole all my crewnecks?
I like my girls and my cigars Cuban
Cut the top off and damn they improving (improving)
I just wanna kick it and make music
If you really from Cuba, then damn I’m moving
Maybe she’s Colombian, I work it like I’m Pablo
Catch me if you can at her parents new condo
You tell me to follow, order me like militia
Post card view but I don’t ever take a picture
East Coast man, but we met on the West Side
Met your parents, I knew that you would impress mine
I used to be a close friend of your bed side
Didn't work out, but I know it will next time

[Hook: Breana Marin]
Maybe next time, we'll make it work
Maybe next time, we'll do things different
Maybe next time around you'll learn
Maybe next time around you'll listen and recognize my worth
Spend time and put me first
You had a thousand second chances
Maybe next time, next time, next time

[Verse 2: Nico Tripodi]
Woo! Blue hair, blonde eyes, wait
I swear the sight of you is messing with my mind state
Ten cent shorty, picture perfect blind date
Hey walk away, girl I love the way you gyrate
Yeah I sing but you got me feeling some way
Gotta lot to say, so I gotta go and rap things
If you're gonna wanna use my words against me
Say, hit me with your name please
Got a figure like a retro Coke bottle
Got a figure like a halo super model
Got a figure like a slo-mo double sand funnel
Genetic jackpot, one in a million
If there's one and 7 billion and I had to rate her
To the human race, can't erase to this day baby look around
You in first place, but oh my goodness
Red and blue, and now my baby's gotta say

[Hook: Breana Marin]
Maybe next time, we'll make it work
Maybe next time, we'll do things different
Maybe next time around you'll learn
Maybe next time around you'll listen and recognize my worth
Spend time and put me first
You had a thousand second chances
Maybe next time, next time, next time

[Bridge: Everett Champion & Nico Tripodi]
Always used to wonder what you had in mind
Alone, writing this on Valentine's
Swear all I do is fantasize
Let me take you to paradise
Maybe next time, Imma give you all of my time
Write you rap rhymes, from sunset to sunrise
Be my sunshine, all time, next summer time
Summer time

[Hook: Breana Marin]
Maybe next time, we'll make it work
Maybe next time, we'll do things different
Maybe next time around you'll learn
Maybe next time around you'll listen and recognize my worth
Spend time and put me first
You had a thousand second chances
Maybe next time, next time, next time

CONCEPT: SINCE THE PROJECT WAS SO POSITIVE, I WANTED ONE SONG THAT COULD TALK ABOUT WHEN RELATIONSHIPS DON’T WORK OUT, BUT STILL HAVING FUN WITH IT

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: NICO IS ON ALL OF MY PROJECTS, AND HE ALWAYS WILL BE. THERE ARE SO MANY SONGS THAT HE COULD HAVE SANG ON AND SOUNDED GREAT ON, BUT WE DECIDED TO SWITCH IT UP, AND HE WANTED TO RAP, AND OF COURSE I AGREED IMMEDIATELY. also i’m super proud of the bridge, when nico and i harmonize? wow

bonfire (feat. the stf choir)

LINES

[Verse 1: Everett Champion]
Think back to all the good times that we had
Sit back and fade off into the the past
And sometimes they can make me sad
But I'll still listen, I swear that I'll cause I'll be back
Back from the city, back to my town
Back to the place I would run around
With my friends playing music too loud
Looking for some girls who are prolly just down
But it’s been 4 years, know I guess I gotta go
Hit the stage, graduate, and then I just hit the road
Studying art, but I'm working on my business
No distance, could keep me away from Christmas
Back to the future of what happens next
Writing tests, and thinking about life and death
I might progress, meet the girl I might impress
I’ll bring her home soon, as I write this text
I'm thinking

[Hook: The STF Choir & Everett Champion]
I don’t know, where I’m headed
These memories, I won’t forget em
Don’t know my future, with me or you
But when I’m gone, you know what to do
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Keep it on fire, on fire
I’ll always need this, when I’m alone
I’ll put it out as soon as I get home

[Verse 2: Everett Champion]
2013, bring it back to the start
No mic, no beats, and a heart
Saw the local scene and wanted to play a part
Cause "Started From The Bottom" was on the top of charts
Had support from my friends, my class was behind me
Looking at Interscope and waiting for them to sign me
Still had braces, still had no patience
Copped a Mac, and starting recording in the basement
Kick it for a minute, grab a record and we'd spin it
I’m focused on my future, but can't forget my beginnings
Me and Mark, we'd would go on Youtube and we'd listen
To all the local guys, RAW Music, Mr. Swift and
Then we’d freestyle about the girls in our class
Damn that time passed, it went by too fast
Back and forth bars, say a line and we'd trade off
But I guess days in the basement, really paid off

[Hook: The STF Choir & Everett Champion]
I don’t know, where I’m headed
These memories, I won’t forget em
Don’t know my future, with me or you
But when I’m gone, you know what to do
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Keep it on fire, on fire
I’ll always need this, when I’m alone
I’ll put it out as soon as I get home

[Bridge: Everett Champion]
I wanna move to Kauai, move to Dubai
Set fireworks off from my porch in July
No cubicle, no suit and no tie
Except the ceremony for you and I
Come back to my city, full of wonderful people
And this world is far from being equal
And it feels like the world is a movie
And if you knew me, you know my city is the sequel
I want a wife and a kid
A pool in the back, and a fire and a pit
And some lawn chairs, for when I’m old and can sit
And think back to the times I wouldn’t quit
And I feel like a star ready to shine (shine)
And I feel like my life is finally mine (mine)
I feel like I’m one of a kind (kind)
So light that up like one more time (time)

[Hook: The STF Choir & Everett Champion]
I don’t know, where I’m headed
These memories, I won’t forget em
Don’t know my future, with me or you
But when I’m gone, you know what to do
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Light that bonfire (bonfire)
Keep it on fire, on fire
I’ll always need this, when I’m alone
I’ll put it out as soon as I get home

CONCEPT: a look back at MY career so far, where I WAS in life, and MY future. This song was released in the summer before I moved to Toronto for university, AND IS A GREAT TIME CAPSULE OF MY FEELINGS BEFORE I LEFT, EXCITED BY ANXIOUS

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: I WANTED TO HAVE A BIG FINALE TO THE PROJECT, AND KNEW ALL THESE GREAT SINGERS FROM MY HIGH SCHOOL THAT I WANTED TO WORK WITH, SO I DECIDED TO COMPILE THEM AND CREATE THIS BIG HOOK. also, if you listen CLOSELY in the “bon-fi-re” part, you can hear my buddy john boctor in the background singing it along with me
