a moment in time

lines

[Verse 1: Everett champion]
I'm only here to convey my thoughts
Let you know what I’m thinking
Every songs an emotion
Showing you that I’m different
Every song has a story, and every story is real
Put my heart into this tape, just to show how I feel
Just to show my dedication, just to show you that I’m driven
This is my moment in time and I hope y’all will listen
Don’t want 15 minutes, I want 15 years
Then double that, I'mma come back and call it my career
This mixtape, this creation I made up on my own
I been working around the clock, every minute I’m in the zone
Every minute I’m on my grind, every time that I write these rhymes
I know that I’m not signed, but I got an adolescent mind
Trying to find my place in this world, until the day is done
Start writing it down at midnight, working until I see the sun
You may have this on your phone, you may hear it from a friend
But anyways I’m just here to say, that my dream will never end

[Hook: everett champion]
This is my moment in time
I own it and I'm
Thinking bout a world tour, gotta show in the Chi
I got a show in L.A
I got a show in the Bay
This is my moment in time, and I know what to say
I say, I'm working so hard, give it everything I got
Do anything I can just to make it to the top
Play any of my songs, take a step into my mind
I’d like to welcome you all to my moment
My moment in time

[Verse 2: everett champion]
Now lemme explain how it goes and what it means
12 songs resemble a clock, each hour is just a theme
Every song is a different view on life, some party, some relaxed
Some emotional shit, some are me just spitting raps
The cycle goes forever, when it's over, it's starts again
Some meaning behind your lyrics, maybe I can start a trend
This is my moment in time, and it will be that forever
Every song just sounds better, the way I put it together
The way I show my life, in 12 different songs
As time goes on, you'll all be singing along
I was just watching the Grammys and saw Mack on the TV
And said to my mom, one day that's gonna be me
I'm gonna walk up and recieve my award
For changing the world with everything that I record
You gotta have plans, you gotta be on a mission
Looking 5 years in the future, I got 2020 vision

[Hook: everett champion]
This is my moment in time
I own it and I'm
Thinking bout a world tour, gotta show in the Chi
I got a show in L.A
I got a show in the Bay
This is my moment in time, and I know what to say
I say, I'm working so hard, give it everything I got
Do anything I can just to make it to the top
Play any of my songs, take a step into my mind
I’d like to welcome you all to my moment

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: I FOUND THE ALAN WATTS SAMPLE ON YOUTUBE ONE DAY AND THOUGHT IT WAS SO DOPE THAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF TIME, SO I DECIDED TO INCLUDE HIS THEORY ALL THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT. ONLY 3 MONTHS LATER, LOGIC WOULD END UP USING THE SAME SAMPLE IN HIS SONG “THE INCREDIBLE TRUE STORY.”

story stay the same

lines

[Hook: Drake] (x2)
No new niggas, nigga we don't feel that
Fuck a fake friend, where you real friends at?
We don't like to do too much explaining
Story stays the same I never changed it

[Verse 1: Everett champion]
There's a bar and I'm raising it
You know I make amazing shit
I'm in studio with this track and I'm blazing it
I feel like man of the year, not a fan of the tear
I still kill rappers, no man in the mirror
And I abuse a rapper with perfection and word play
Get all these bitches, man it's like my birthday
I’m in first place, champion is the opposites of losing
Bitch I am the bomb that you failed at diffusing
Your girl be cruising, in my Lamborghini Mercy
I eliminate any rapper that trying to verse me
I've been rolling, I've been rocking
I know that they been talking
As soon as I walk in, all these bitches just be flocking
I be walking, I be killing it
Saw my dream, I'm fulfilling it
My dream is my life, so I go and put a mill in it
Exquisite when I rip it
Watch it like an exhibit
I don’t mean to be explicit
But you bitches better listen
Yup!

[Hook: Drake] (x2)
No new niggas, nigga we don't feel that
Fuck a fake friend, where you real friends at?
We don't like to do too much explaining
Story stays the same I never changed it
(Where your real friends at?)
(I never change that)
(Where your real friends at?) x4

[Verse 2: everett champion]
EZ cause you know I'm viscous
See me with your mistress, man it's really business
Got a dime, I got riches
She wants to be a witness, I sneak in like Christmas
Driving in my new Mercedes
Picking up your ladies
But my team is just some Good Fellas, Martin Scorsese
Still me, still incredible
Still EZ, still impeccable
Me and your girl, inseparable
Stallone, you expendable
Got your girl on me like she’s a SnapBack
Sending me some pics quick, hit me up on Snapchat
Quicker than the liquor coming out her backpack
Real All The Time, hell yeah thats the Rattpack
Up all night, and I tell you that I’m focused
When I spit this verse, no one believes that I wrote this
I give 110, I wonder if you notice
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

[Hook: Drake] (x2)
No new niggas, nigga we don't feel that
Fuck a fake friend, where you real friends at?
We don't like to do too much explaining
Story stays the same I never changed it
(Where your real friends at?)

opposites

lines

[Verse 1: everett champion]
Addicted to the lights and the drug and the sound
Heads in the clouds, can't focus on the ground
Says she’s a good girl, tries to be low-key
Pick her up at 8 so she won't stay lonely
Jams to Avicii, but she really wants to meet me
Calls me a puzzle cause she says she can complete me
Drinking Palm Bay, Smirnoff, Bud, and Bacardi
She'll ditch her best friend for a chance to party
Calls me a player, call her Runaround Sue
Took her best friend to my room, it was All I Could Do
No G, No Skizzy,
but she’s always really busy
Pops backs another pill back and damn she gets dizzy
She wants to get up, she wants to get down
With me its low-key, but she wants to get loud
Passes another one around, hanging with the wrong crowd
Takes her first hit from that bong now, but thats the wrong proud

[Hook: everett champion]
It's like day and night, like black and white
I wish I could take it back tonight
You'll be on the bottom, and I'll be on top of it
I guess we're just opposites
Were like cold and hot, like sold and not
Completely different but you gotta gimme a shot
You'll be on the bottom and I'll be on top of it
I guess we're just opposites

[Verse 2: everett champion]
Yoga pants and crop tops, the usual attire
This road never ends, you can watch it transpire
This job is hella fun, but I think you should retire
She’s already high, but she wants to get higher
See her at a party with all her friends
She tells me to take a shot, I tell her it depends
She says we can have fun in her daddys new Benz
She ain't the same girl, lost all common sense
Getting high in the bathrooms, in class she can't focus
Wears her skirt a little high, just to get noticed
Gets her first job, needs it and she knows it
Gets her first cheque, and she literally blows it
Different like up and down
I know that you run around
I hope you ain't offended but you know this is coming out
I know I’m gonna make it, and I gotta be confident
This ain't a compliment, girl you know we are just opposites

[Hook: everett champion]
It's like day and night, like black and white
I wish I could take it back tonight
You'll be on the bottom, and I'll be on top of it
I guess we're just opposites
Were like cold and hot, like sold and not
Completely different but you gotta gimme a shot
You'll be on the bottom and I'll be on top of it
I guess we're just opposites

CONCEPT: I TELL THE STORY OF A GIRL WHO HAS FALLEN INTO A LIFESTYLE OF DRUGS, ALCOHOL, AND SEX. THEY SAY OPPOSITES ATTRACT, NOT IN THIS CASE.

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: I WAS SO AGAINST GIRLS WHO DRANK AND PARTIED, IDK WHY. SINCE I BARELY DRANK AND DIDN’T DO DRUGS, I WROTE A SONG THAT WOULD MIRROR MY LIFESTYLE. THIS SONG WAS LIKE THE FOUNDATION FOR SONGS LIKE “XYZ” AND “JULIET.” ALSO I LOVE HOW I WAS TALKING ABOUT GIRLS DOING COCAINE WHEN I WAS 15, I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT WAS BACK THEN

insomniac

lines

[Verse 1: everett champion]
I never go to sleep
I write a bunch of lines then I kill it on the beat
12 am working, the song is complete
I'm under the lights, should be under the sheets
When I should be asleep, late at night
I'm writing down songs, lay them down on the mic
Up goes the volume and down goes the lights
Cause I know I'm gonna get big off the shit that I write
The mic gets power, and the lyrics get spit
Do this every night so that I can make a hit
I swear the best shit gets made at night (at night)
Trying to be the greatest, ain't that right?
I'm just trying to spread the word, that I’m ready to go
Everyone is tripping, but I just steady the show
I'm not a Little Boy, but I’m ready to blow
Lets get it popping like confetti, wow
Wait for the weekend, this is my fun
I got some shit to record and theres work to get done
I’m an insomniac, so hit me up whenever
Cause I'll be up making hits forever
Living my dream, writing these schemes
Got all these themes and I put em together
Never sleep, the lyrics are updated
Look back a year, yeah I’ve upgraded
Making music you can vibe to
Want some cash, so I put it up on iTunes
Tell my girl to go to bed, I don’t need the rest
Cause I gotta get it all off my chest
Logic and Garage Band, when I’m in the zone
Only lights from my mic, and my phone
I've been working all night, writing to these beats
I'm an insomniac so I never go to sleep

[Prehook: everett champion & Sample]
I never go to sleep
I’m an insomniac so I never go to sleep
(Seven times out of ten, we listened to our music at night, thus
Spawned the title of this program)

[Hook: everett champion]
How you play to stop me?
When I’m up all night
I am like Rocky
Cause I’m ready for the fight
Well your all asleep
I be in the lab
Time ain't cheap
But this all I have

[Verse 2: everett champion]
Tick tock when the clock go
Got more lines than a rock show
Moving to the city, that's Toronto
Or Chicago, don't matter, girls love it when I talk slow
But lemme put a perspective on it
I'm writing all these lines, I’m always honest
I want fame, I can't wait no more
Why you think I’m always up from 8 till 4?
It's just me at night (at night)
What I wanna be at night (at night)
Focused, I can see at night (at night)
Damn, I feel so free at night (at night)
It's dark but my mind is lit
Looking through my songs, trying to find a hit
But it's gonna take time, maybe years and years
But when I turn on the mic, it just clears my fears
So I lock the door, turn on my phone
Turn off the lights, get in my zone
Get in the mood, and the beat starts playing
Get up on stage and everyones just saying
EZ! (EC!) EZ! (EC!)
Thanks to everyone that just bought my CD
Or got the mixtape, and supports my dreams
I don't got a fanbase, I have a massive team

[Prehook: everett champion & Sample]
I never go to sleep
I’m an insomniac so I never go to sleep
(Seven times out of ten, we listened to our music at night, thus
Spawned the title of this program)

[Hook: everett champion]
How you play to stop me?
When I’m up all night
I am like Rocky
Cause I’m ready for the fight
Well your all asleep
I be in the lab
Yeah time ain't cheap
But this all I have

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: MY PARENTS WERE HAVING A PARTY UPSTAIRS THE NIGHT I WAS WRITING THIS SONG, AND LIL ANGSTY ME THOUGHT I WAS SO DOPE BECAUSE I WAS WORKING WHEN I COULD HAVE BEEN HAVING FUN UPSTAIRS. someone like you

lines

[Hook: NYLO]
Someone like, someone like
Someone like, someone like
Someone like, someone like
Someone like
Someone like you, someone like you

[Verse 1: everett champion]
Someone like you
Exactly what I’ve been looking for, my type
The perfect girl I really could use and need in my life
Doesn’t get crazy, wild, hang with random guys every night
Doesn’t get mad at every comment, and tries to start a fight
She don't drink that shit, or take that smoke
You could be rich, you could be broke
I wouldn’t care, I'll take you there
And if you got a guy, well that's not fair
Cause I finally found my girl, my life, my world
I’ll take you there, buy you diamonds and pearls
I’ve made bad choices, don’t we all?
Grab your hand and both we fall
See the feelings don’t come around all the time
We fell in love like dominoes fall in line
And I'll follow your choices if you follow mine
But I won’t leave you in tomorrow's time
But right now is the moment, and you own it
You're perfect and yeah, you’ve shown it
I couldn’t be wrong, I know that I’m right
My heart's like Boeing cause it just took flight
I know you wanna hear this, so press play
I’m a call you the very next day
I won’t peace out but I'll always be a kid
Forget about the past, doesn’t matter what you did
Don’t mess around with 12’s at a party
No weed or sipping on Bacardi
I wanna write a song, a poem, a haiku
I can honestly say I've never met someone like you

[Hook: NYLO]
Someone like, someone like
Someone like, someone like
Someone like, someone like
Someone like
Someone like you, someone like you

[Verse 2: everett champion]
It's so crazy that this world brought us together
You can wear my t-shirts girl and you can wear my sweater
Better girls? Nah, haven't met them or never found them
I can tell they ain't the one, just being by around em
But not you darling you're one of a kind
Unique girl, got a wonderful mind
I mean time goes faster when I’m with you
Let's hang all day, have a wonderful time
Girl I'll call you Gillette, best a man can get
I’ll be back tomorrow so girl don’t fret
Cause the rapper stereotype is buy a jet
Just go, without the ready and set
My stomach turns upside down and I lose control
My heart starts beating and so does my soul
My whole body freezes like chill
Really move like whoops I’m still
Can you stay with me tonight, or at least for awhile?
Girl I get distracted when you flash that smile
The world just stops for you
Want a necklace, I’m gonna cop a few
Feel like magic, you cast a spell
Gives me a feeling that I really can't tell
Well if I tried, it’d go something like this
I need to tell you, so I thought I'd write this
You're flawless, a girl from a dream
You're a movie star, rewind that scene
I’m by your side, wait here's my que
I can honestly say I’ve never met someone like you

[Hook: NYLO]
Someone like, someone like
Someone like, someone like
Someone like, someone like
Someone like
Someone like you, someone like you

[Outro: Childish Gambino]
I mean, I've said it before, I definetly love her but I don't know...
Yeah I don't know, like it's just, it's not any, it's not
I dont think about it in those terms, I just don't think about it in those terms
Like we met and there's definitely a connection, like she's a really really good person
I've never, I can honestly say
I've never met someone like her

“i didn’t answer in time, but called back immediately”

hours pass by (interlude)

lines

[Intro: Allan Watts]
(Clocks ticking)
Time is a social institution and not a physical reality
There is no such thing as time in the natural world
The world of stars and waters, and mountains and clouds and living organisms

[Verse 1: everett champion]
Feel like my whole life changed in the last year
Family supports me, they know that there's cash here
They know I won't grow up to be a cashier
We all know I can make it if I just spit my raps clear
They know that everything is fine
They know I’m gonna make it if I focus on my time
That's all we really got, yeah that's all we really need
I will show the world that I will succeed
Cause I'm me, I'm unique, yes I am a different breed
I'm growing right now, so I started up as a seed
This ain't a game, but other rappers I one-up
Y’all grind to like 3 in the morning, but I grind to the sun up
I put in my effort, you can't measure
But I’m under pressure, but none the lesser
I’m still designing my rhymes, to make them sound better
Do it forever, I see my dreams as pieces the way I put it together
Let's go

[Interlude: Allan Watts]
There is such a thing as rhythm
Rhythm of tides, rhythm of biological processes
But time as such is a social institution
Now of course, are we going to take time seriously
That is the big question

[Verse 2: everett champion]
And through this music I’m gonna just change my life
The art of the world's so beautiful if you can paint it right
I’m not a rapper, not a thug in the streets
But I still put it down like a murderer on these beats
I’m an artist, some nights I never go to sleep
Cause that's another minute lost, I could make my dream complete
Put in my time, and I make it all just sound right
So when I get up on stage, I make sure that the crowds right
I'm dedicated (dedicated), I stayed inside
On Friday nights, instead of having fun, yo I'd rather grind
I was in the studio, speaking to my microphone
Check the clock, it's the morning, I guess the night is gone
Until the sun comes back up, and the records just get smashed up
I won't even listen if you tell me that my raps suck
Nah (nah, nah, nah) it's all in my mind
But when I grind I just make the most all of my time
So who you know works this hard and is just 15
And writing these sixteens and following his dream?
Nobody, cause nobody, got the drive like I do
Nobody's killing rap just by writing simple haikus

[Interlude: Alan Watts]
Time is money, time is of the essence
And we do, don't we? Live in a culture
Or a complex of cultures in the Western world
Where we are literally driven by time

[Verse 3: everett champion]
I wasn’t made for these times, I was for way back
Before it was Raybans, Gucci, and Maybachs
Back when you would lay back, and just trade raps
Don’t worry about the money that you throw, you get paid back
No executives trying to undermine your talents
You’d work your whole life and it would show in your balance
You could upscale your life from an apartment to a palace
When you thought of quick rhymes, free styling was a challenge
"I get money, throwing bills for the hell of it"
2 years from now you whack rappers are all irrelevant
My rhymes are elegant, got some meaning and that's a big deal
Now theres too much beef and not enough bread, that's a shit meal
Keep ya shit real, speak what's on your mind
Real talent and raw lyrics are so hard to find
See I'm always on my grind, I always speak the truth
Trying to inspire the youth, and spit some fire in the booth
I wasn’t made for this second now right now
But I'll try and capture the time when I write down
Get up on stage and I vibe with the right crowd
But all there is, is phones up and lights down
Rocking to the right sound, but I’m in the present
Rapping is my profession, you can tell in every session
Every message, you can hear it
Every annotated lyric
You can read what I mean, you can feel it in my spirit like

[Interlude: Allan Watts]
Word, the old fashioned word, instincts
And now they call them drives
Because there's this feeling
You got to make that deadline
There's something there you got to get to

[Verse 4: everett champion]
This is just the beginning
But my story stays she same
Me and these other rappers are opposites causing I’m running the game
Working 12 hours like an insomniac, I do
Speaking to my girl, ain't met someone just like you
Now you’ve heard the first half
5 songs in, can you relate to my craft?
Did you smile? Are you proud? Did you cry? Did you laugh?
Or did just skip past?
The right side of your mind is creative and topical
The left side is realistic and logical
My teacher told me financially, the left would keep me strong
Forget the other side, does that mean that the right is wrong?
Doesn’t matter, every type of beat I write along
But for every emotion and every mood I have a song
For the club, for the streets, for the whip and for the sheets
Cause this is where intellect and versatility meets
Cheated on by my ex, I'm drinking about her
Writing these hot lines, I'm thinking about burns
Always in paradise, there's something I might learn
I feel like I'm changing, throw me in any cypher
This is everything I want, it's elegant and refined
Perfection is to the dime, this is my moment in time
This is my Chronic, my Under Pressure, my Illmatic
Started 2 years ago, but you know that I'm still at it
I got a team, and I'm following my scheme
Now I'll let you enjoy the other half of my dream
Other rappers doing nothing, watching the grass die
I been in the studio working, watching the hours pass by

drinking about you

lines

[Hook: Bebe Rexha]
No one's gonna love you like I do
No one's gonna care like I do
I can't stop drinking about you
I gotta numb the pain
I can't stop drinking about you
I gotta numb the pain

[Verse 1: Everett champion]
Forget it all and every one of your Facetimes
What a situation lemme just make rhymes
I love your face but I can see that you hate mine
I'm living in the moment, you just waste time
Yeah I got no energy, hiding your identity
You got some tendencies to cheat like a Kennedy
And I got some remedies, Hennessy and memories
I am not an enemy, please just remember me
Baby I’m always working, yes you know I’m always busy
Make sense that I’m numb, cause I’m vibing like I’m Skizzy
You tell me let's chill, you tell me to come over
You want me wasted but I just come sober
Drinking Absinthe till I'm absent
Drinking Bourbon, I'm not hurting
Drinking Crown Royal cause you weren’t loyal
Now I hit the road and I'm swerving
Tell me to move on, put it in the past
I'm drinking about you, lemme pour another glass
Then im out

[Hook: Bebe Rexha]
No one's gonna love you like I do
No one's gonna care like I do
I can't stop drinking about you
I gotta numb the pain
I can't stop drinking about you
I gotta numb the pain

[Verse 2: everett champion]
Twist off the cap, take a swig from the bottle
I keep drinking until you look like a model
I keep drinking until I find the reason
Why our relationship fall out like the season
Why it just end, why it was so complicated
Pulling on my heart strings, like you operated
But you didn't debate it, didn't care who you dated
Text me randomly one day, oh you happy that I made it?
Chugging Blue Ribbon, now who’s winning?
See I was chilling, while you were sinning
We had more fights in four nights
I want some Coors Light, and poor sight
I got it all planned, cause tonight I got some foresight
You ain't ever going to meet someone like me in your life
Drinking Miller Lite, but I'm feeling like
Our realest fights, turned to chillest nights
You told me to wait up for you but I feel like I'm still on ice
But right now I'm on the floor, my face facing the ceiling
I’m darker than a villain, just chilling writing my feelings
And then I'm out

[Hook: Bebe Rexha] x2
No one's gonna love you like I do
No one's gonna care like I do
I can't stop drinking about you
I gotta numb the pain
I can't stop drinking about you
I gotta numb the pain

CONCEPT: I DESCRIBE HOW HARD A BREAKUP FELT TO ME AND HOW I WANTED TO ESCAPE INTO DRINKING TO FORGET THIS GIRL

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: THIS SONG IS A MIRROR TO “SOMEONE LIKE YOU” SHOWING THE DUALITY OF A RELATIONSHIP. THERE IS A REASON WHY TRACK 6, “HOURS PASS BY” IS IN BETWEEN THESE TRACKS, BASICALLY ONCE I FOUND SOMEONE LIKE HER, HOURS PASSED BY, AND NOW I’M DRINKING ABOUT HER. THE TRACKLIST TELLS A LIL STORY. ALSO ORIGINALLY, MY BUDDY ALEXANDER KENNEDY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE SECOND VERSE, HE ENDED UP DROPPING OUT AND I WROTE THE ENTIRE SECOND VERSE AN HOUR BEFORE THE STUDIO SESSION FOR THIS SONG.

came a long way

lines

[Intro]
This should be played at high volume
Preferably, in a residential area

[Verse 1: everett champion]
I'm at the highest point but it ain't the climax
My movies keeps getting bigger like an IMAX
I'm artist yeah, you know I paint and I rap
I'm just blowing up call my mixtape Iraq
Sign that EZ, I stand behind what I say
Driving to success fast, call that shit the highway
I'm doing it my way, no others just me
Trust me, in lab I am not lucky
I've been missing parties, missing weekends just to grind
Play any of my songs, take a step into my mind
I’ve been working so hard, every single night and day
Yeah it's only been a while, but I’ve came along way

[Prehook: KLP & everett champion]
You're not, not like the others
(Not like the others, not like the others)
(Who me? Yo I'm not like the others)

[Hook: everett champion]
Came a long way, from 2 years ago
Now I’m making bank, from playing all these shows
It's the same kid inside but I’m wearing different clothes
Cop a beat, then I drop the heat, yo it's how it goes
And I know, got a lot more work to do
I got a dream that I need to pursue
I'm never gonna stop, don’t care what you say
I gotta long way to go, but I’ve came a long way

[Verse 2: Everett champion]
Me and you are opposites, I'm feeling like Gold
This a repeating cycle, and we do it till were old
Only Matters on the music, no interruption with a hold
I'm an independent artist, so my cards will never fold
Imma make you feel alright, yeah my story stay the same
This is everything I want, so you know I’ll never change
Who you know spits bars like this and is 15?
And writing all of these sixteens, and following his dreams?
Trying to make hits like Ye and Jay
Don't wanna fall back like a fade away
Get it on camera, like Ray and K
I'm never grounded like a paper weight
I'm a never switch teams, always repping my crew
Poetically murdering enemies through these haikus
Gotta fanbase, I mean what else can I say?
That it's only been a while, but I’ve came a long way

[Bridge: KLP]
Feel it coming, feel it coming on
You can be the touch that I'm running home to
You know that won't bring me down today
When winter comes, and you need a hand
Put you in the land till you understand me
I'm going to be there by your side
You're not, not like the others (x3)
Ohhhhh

[Prehook: KLP & everett champion]
You're not, not like the others
(Not like the others, not like the others)
(Who me? Yo I'm not like the others)

[Hook 2: Everett champion]
Came a long way
Years ago, years ago, came a long a way from 2 years ago
And I know, got a lot more work to do
I got a dream that I need to pursue
I'm never gonna stop, don’t care what you say
I gotta long way to go, but I’ve came a long way

[Verse 3: everett champion]
That’s how I’m doing it, I’m putting in my time
10,000 hours, I can make it and I'll shine
And in time, I'll be writing million dollar rhymes
See I’m not one in a million, but I'm just one of a kind
My brain is flowing and I’m in the mind set
I don’t care about the stacks that you think your rhymes get
I’m Bad Meets Evil cause I’m always in the Fast Lane
I’m truly a champ, yeah you know I am my last name

[Hook 2: Everett champion]
Came a long way
Years ago, years ago, came a long a way from 2 years ago
And I know, got a lot more work to do
I got a dream that I need to pursue
I'm never gonna stop, don’t care what you say
I gotta long way to go, but I’ve came a long way

CONCEPT: I SHOW HOW PROUD I AM OF MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS AND HOW I AM ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER.

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: THIS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE PROJECT, ORIGINALLY I HAD A SONG CALLED “HOT LINES” IN THIS SONG’S PLACE. DUE TO COPYRIGHT DRAMA WITH THE OWNER OF THE INSTRUMENTAL, I WAS FORCED TO REMOVE “HOT LINES” FROM ALL DIGITAL RELEASES OF THE PROJECT AND INSTEAD, SLOT THIS SONG IN. I REMEMBER FINDING THIS INSTRUMENTAL VERY RANDOMLY, I WAS WALKING TO MY LOCKER IN HIGH SCHOOL AND WAS LISTENING TO “KING WAVY” BY KYLE ON SOUNDCLOUD, WHEN THE SONG FINISHED AND IT MOVED TO THE NEXT SONG, IT WAS THIS INSTRUMENTAL AND I LOVED THE EDM STYLE. SO I WENT HOME, WROTE THE SONG, AND PERFORMED THE SONG MONTHS LATER AT MY SCHOOL’S TALENT SHOW

paradise

lines

[Hook: Childish Gambino]
No matter what you say or what you do
When I'm alone, I'd rather be with you
Fuck these other niggas
I'll be right by your side 'til 3005, hold up

[Verse 1: everett champion]
Sun is out and the waves are crashing
She's a movie star, the cameras flashing
When we talking, you take me away
Wake up, go to sleep, talking all day
We lock the door, chill in the studio
Yeah she an actress, fitting that movie role
She always be calling, we chilling on the beach
Lemme hold your hand, don’t care about the reach
Life is like a ferris wheel
It goes up and down
I could be in the middle
Or I could be on the ground
Yeah, life is a ride, hope you ride that with me
Let's go round and around, girl we can make some history
No mystery, God put us here for a reason
Falling in love, spring into action, that's the seasons
I know I'm about to make it, I'm about to blow up
Till 3005 it's just us as long as you hold up

[Hook: Childish Gambino & EVERETT CHAMPION]
No matter what you say or what you do
When I'm alone, I'd rather be with you
Fuck these other niggas
I'll be right by your side 'til 3005, hold up x8
(I feel like I’m in paradise)
(Looking at you, I’m paralyzed)
(I'm a lucky man, but I don’t ever gotta pair of dice)
(I don't need Miami, I don't need the Bahamas)
(Just take me away, no strings and no drama)
(Hold up!) x6
(Feel like I'm in paradise) x2

[Verse 2: EVERETT CHAMPION]
Am I sleeping? Cause your my dream girl
But I’m not dreaming, I’m in the real world
But you might be, wake you up with a text
I pray to God everyday, damn I feel so blessed
And I'm trying to be a legend, can you put me on the map?
Record a love song then I just play it back
Mix it, master it, finish it, yeah then I send it
Yeah we together, but we could be independent
So I can feel the warmth whenever were together
And I hope you like this song, every word and every letter
Cause you take me to this state of mind
I don’t know the place or time
You can take me back, to when I was writing basic lines
I knew I'd find you some day, it would happen one day
Watching the sunset, just ask and we can run away
We chilling at night, hit you up the next day
And if you ever lonely, all you gotta do is press play

[Hook: Childish Gambino & EVERETT CHAMPION]
No matter what you say or what you do
When I'm alone, I'd rather be with you
Fuck these other niggas
I'll be right by your side 'til 3005, hold up
Hold up (x8)

(Looking at you, I’m paralyzed)
(I'm a lucky man, but I don’t ever gotta pair of dice)

CONCEPT: I EXPLAIN HOW BEING WITH THIS GIRL FEELS LIKE BEING ON VACATION AND HOW I WANT TO SPEND MY SUMMER WITH THIS GIRL

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: CHILDISH GAMBINO RELEASED HIS EP “KAUAI” WITH A REMIX OF HIS SONG “3005” WITHOUT ANY VERSES ON IT, JUST A PITCHED UP HOOK. I FOUND THE SONG AND DECIDED TO MAKE A SONG USING THE INSTRUMENTAL, ESSENTIALLY HAVING CHILDISH GAMBINO ON A SONG OF MINE. A MONTH AFTER THE RELEASE OF MY PROJECT, FANS ON REDDIT DISCOVERED A HIDDEN A CAPPELLA VERSE ON ONE OF GLOVER'S WEBSITES. IT WAS CONFIRMED BY GAMBINO THAT THE VERSE SYNCS UP WITH THE INSTRUMENTAL PORTION OF "V. 3005 (BEACH PICNIC VERSION)". SO IN A WAY, I RELEASED MY VERSION OF GAMBINO’S SONG BEFORE HE EVEN DID

changing

lines

[Verse 1: everett champion]
But even back then I still had ambition
Shooting out rhymes, got tons of ammunition
I'm in the position, and the spot to be
But what people don't know, is there's alot to me
So many things that people don't know (don't know)
There's so many emotions that people don't show (dont show)
And you know, people say that I've changed, but accept the fact
Back then there was so many skills that I lacked
So I like who I am now, my rhymes are more complex
Kill it on the mic, let's see how many likes this song gets
And tell me your opinion on the new me
Don't worry I know this will change the way you view me
A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new
But I never realized I was different until you
I’m always myself, and you can't ever try and stop me
I’m born an original and I won’t die a copy

[Hook: Sophia De Luca]
I understand why I'm different, it's comes with age
But life is a novel, so flip the page
And get with the times, the generation
Just face it, I'm changing
Ouuuh I'm changing

[Verse 2: everett champion]
I'm a sophomore, and I'm feeling independent
Being individual, damn right I recommend it
Back then I was so perplexed and unclear with all of my choices
But then I heard rapping, and wasn't voiceless
And I found my calling, I found music and it changed me
Hello EZEC, goodbye to the strange me
Fake is the latest trend, and everyone's in style
Not me, I’ve been keeping it real like I’m KYLE
I’ve came a long way from 2 years ago (2 years ago)
Extremely improved you can tell at every show (every show)
Now I'm in highschool shoutout to being a Phoenix
This is a new me, this ain't no remix
But I know my directions, I know my destination
I know my course and I know just what I'm facing
I know my opponents, I know my opposition
I know my goals, ain't gonna stop cause you know I'm on a mission
Everyone has to step up and evolve
Life is a mystery that we have to solve
Let life unravel before your eyes, and realize
You gotta rise
You gotta get older and find the real you
Lyrics are life, don’t let anyone try and steal you
Stop focusing on the fame, and the money you making
But be yourself, cause everyone else is already taken

[Hook: Sophia De Luca] x2
I understand why I'm different, it's comes with age
But life is a novel, so flip the page
And get with the times, the generation
Just face it, I'm changing
Ouuuh I'm changing

CONCEPT: THIS SONG GIVES A MOTIVATIONAL, EMPOWERING VIBE AND DELIVERS AN EQUALLY MOTIVATIONAL MESSAGE, BE YOURSELF AND STAY TRUE AS YOU GROW OLDER

DIRECTORS COMMENTARY: I NOTICED THE QUOTE “BE YOURSELF BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS ALREADY TAKEN” WRITTEN ON THE CHALKBOARD ON MY FIRST DAY OF GRADE 9 ENGLISH. I WROTE IT DOWN AND BASED THE SONG AROUND THAT QUOTE BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS SO COOL. ALSO, I KNEW SOPHIA FOR A LITTLE BIT BECAUSE OF NICO AS THEY WERE IN A MUSICAL DUO AT THE TIME. I WENT THROUGH MULTIPLE SINGERS BEFORE LANDING ON HER, AND SHE WAS DEFINITELY THE RIGHT CHOICE BECAUSE SHE KILLED IT.

everything i want

lines

[Intro: Double J & everett champion]
And I'm drunk (yeah)
And I'm drunk (turn my beat up a little bit)
Trying to be everything I said that'd I become

[Verse 1: everett champion]
It's the white kid coming from St. Kitts
ITunes money, man I'm trying to get paid hits
You got bad girl? Ok let's trade chicks
Looking on my empire, damn I just made this?
Yes, your girlfriend loves to play this
Checking out my website looking for latest
Every single song, is up in her playlist
Tell you I'm gonna be famous
Taking evasive manoeuvres
Yo get off your computers
I’m a sick guy, I’m McFly, going Back To The Future
It's the white rapper
The mic snapper
The bike snatcher
Sees your girl and might tap her
Verbally destroys you, then just fights after
I don't a milli, but I wanna drive a Bentley
Affect my listeners how other artist just affect me
I got that classic type vibe
You know I’m the right guy
Connecting with your girl at home, man I'm like the wifi
All I need is a mic, a beat and rhyme scheme
But it's just me, the number one time thief
Going for the top spot, driving in a drop top
Your girl in the back wearing nothing but a crop top
Hops in the back as soon as I put the keys in
Ride around town, screaming "we don’t need a reason!"
Written down or freestyle
Girls just be on speed dial
I don't even need style
But I gotta be wild

[Hook: Double J & everett champion]
(Be wild) x4
Find the most dope, yeah I'm so loco
Trying to be everything I said that'd I become
(Said that'd I become) x4
The fast cars, money, hoes, I love it
And this is everything I want
This is everything I want
(This is everything I want) x2

[Verse 2: everett champion]
I would like to get approached on the side walk
My hand just relays info when my mind talks
People are like, "damn the kid rhymes hot!"
I don't always drink but I always gotta buy shots
Smart with my money, so I don't go and buy lots
I always am clean, no flow, no high socks
I feel like a teacher the way my rhymes taught
Kids to take hold on the moment, now the times caught
The clocks stopped, no times passing
I kill a rapper quickly, rhyme assassin
Got an idea, now my mind climaxing
Put out my music for a reason, why they asking?
Am I capable of staying the same?
Recording every night, and I’m praying for fame
Now every single girl is saying my name
Cause they know I'm always killing it, I’m slaying the game

[Hook: Double J & everett champion]
(Slaying the game) x4
Find the most dope, yeah I'm so loco
Trying to be everything I said that'd I become
(Said that'd I become) x4
The fast cars, money, hoes, I love it
And this is everything I want
This is everything I want
(This is everything I want) x2

[Outro: Double J and everett champion]
And I'm drunk (EZ)
And I'm drunk (ScottyMuzik)
(A Moment In Time)
Trying to be everything I said that'd I become (EZEC)

“i didn’t answer in time, but called back immediately”

around the clock

lines

[Verse 1: everett champion]
This is my story, this is just the beginning
Last name is champion, yes I’m always winning
The studio is a system, and you could say that I'm driven
This is the last song so please just listen
To my passion, my outlet to the world
I’m focusing on my dream not focusing on these girls
Cause men lie, women lie, numbers never do
I make this music for me, but I release it for you
To help people relate and can vibe with it
Never lie in it, every thing I do is real
Keep it on mass appeal, I don't need a deal
I’m gonna do it independent, sign when I feel
Like I gotta push forward and break another ceiling
I wanna change the world and to evoke feelings
Not the money or the girls and everything that comes after
I want it all in time but I’m an artist not a rapper
Word to Bino, word to Skizzy, word to Logic
I love my songs, they keep me busy and on topic
Want enough money to vacation in the tropics
I want this bumping everywhere from the city to the projects
Shoutout to the greats, the ones that came before me
The artists motivate me to live and create my stories
Hoodie Allen, G-Eazy, Eminem and Kyle
You could all cheer me up and bring a smile
Thanks to Kendrick and Cole for changing the game
Shoutout to Drake, yeah nothing was the same
Word to the 6 and the 905
I’m loving my city, I feel so alive
Play my music in the greatest compilation
They calling me a star, like I’m in the constellation
Top the nation, that's my plan, I am just a man
But once I drop this music, everyone is just a fan

[Hook: Nico tk]
Do you believe me now?
Can you see me now?
You already know that, you can't bring me down
Feel like I got it
It's all that I want
I’ve been working, right around the clock
Cause I’m gonna make it
Straight it to the top
Cause I’ve been working, right around the clock

[Verse 2: everett champion]
Got a beat pad, I was inspired by Jon
Making my own music, and writing my own songs
My material gets better by each day
I gotta say, after every song they gonna replay
The first time they heard my voice on a track
I could’ve dropped 4 songs and drop but now I'm back
Cause I finish what I start
This is professional art
Music from the soul and especially the heart
Music that makes you want to create your own
Work 7 years, growing, one day you can watch the throne
Working from my home, studio in my basement
Real artistry, you know that you can't trace it
Put me in a box, won't work, I think outside of it
Replaying this mixtape after listening is a sign effect
Now I'm just a kid and I'm doing what I love
Music is my main goal, I put nothing above
But I'm good at other things, got skills in other rings
I’m a rapper that spits lines and occasionally sings
Now 4 years you gonna see me on the TV
HD or 3D, promoting my new CD
You like how I do it, flowing on a mixtape
But I just cut out the beat like a switchblade
Tell em all which date, every fan is gonna download
Repping up the symbol, yes I know the crowd knows
Ask me to write a song, I'll kill it and produce two
Listen to my dream, let me introduce you
2 years ago, I wasn’t sure to keep going
But now that I keep flowing, now I keep growing
Killing any rapper swiftly, yeah I keep glowing
Write every night, take flight like a Boeing
Pay attention to me now, watch as I paint the eisel
Cause to understand the ending one must understand the prequel

[Hook: Nico tk]
Do you believe me now?
Can you see me now?
You already know that, you can't bring me down
Feel like I got it
It's all that I want
I’ve been working, right around the clock
Cause I’m gonna make it
Straight it to the top
Cause I’ve been working, right around the clock

[Verse 3: everett champion]
So where I'm at now, couples songs for the public
A mixtape for the world, now I feel like I run it
I got the next 3 years mapped out in my mind
A couple more mixtapes, maybe a deal that I'll sign
But that dont mean that I'm a sell out
Glass ceilings only come when you know that you can sell out
Arenas, I'm making hits like Serena
Chilling in Bora Bora, got an Ora like I'm Rita
But I know my level, killing it in my lane
In a couple years, everyone will know my name
I wanna sign with VMG
Maybe be on TMZ
Make a hunnit, yeah I’ve done it, run it like I'm DMC
I wanna sell out the Meridian
A Grammy in my hand, I wanna be a recipient
I wanna win a Juno, I need another award
I want people to bump everything that I record
I got long term goals, this mixtape was a dream
But now that it's completed, I got years full of schemes
I got it all planned, yes I know the outcome
Maybe sign a deal but either way drop an album
Yeah I got some hot lines, but they're for the eighth track
No I won't take back
I’m Dilla with an 8 track
Imma go far, Imma spit it so hard
Cause I'm like a go kart, doing laps on the racetrack
Talk about your favourite rappers I wanna be your top pick
Rapping different topics, yo shoutout to Logic
V's up, peace, love, keep up the positivity
You get me on the mic, I rock it, there's endless possibilities
Ready for the games to start, ready to face off
Take my girl to the beach, yeah you know I Baywatch
Never chasing my liquor, I'm always drinking straight Scotch
I love where I'm at, so I'd never trade spots
It's funny how rappers now do it for fame
Money, cars, and just their personal gain
Well me? I respect the art form what it became
It's my escape, from everyone in my way
Everybody is getting theres, I’m ready to get mine
Hands around the clock, never stop, I don’t set time
Look at my watch, tonight might be long
But I'm focused and awake when I write these songs
Told my teacher my goals, he said be realistic
Sorry I don't wanna grow up to be a statistic
I’ll risk it, and I may not be perfect
But I know in the end it’ll all be just be worth it

[Hook: Nico tk]
Do you believe me now?
Can you see me now?
You already know that, you can't bring me down
Feel like I got it
It's all that I want
I’ve been working, right around the clock
(Cause I’m gonna make it
Straight it to the top
Cause I’ve been working, right around the clock) x2
